Two week workshop "Increasing occupation for children with motor development delay" by Nathan Visser

Nathan Visser (Netherlands), ergotherapist, founder of the Arman ergotherapy center in Kazakhstan; ex-vice-president of the Kazakhstan Association of Occupational Therapists will train OT specialists and care givers in Spring 2022 in West Kazakhstan.

 

This two week workshop based on modern approaches to occupational therapy is intended for neurologists, pediatricians and general practitioners, rehabilitation specialists and physiotherapists and paramedical personnel involved in the care of children with cerebral palsy.

 

The first week is devoted to the problems of assessing the condition of a child with cerebral palsy with the formation of a multidisciplinary team, as well as the principles of early intervention.

 

The second week is devoted to improving the quality of life of patients through the choice of auxiliary equipment, orthopedic correction and a multidisciplinary approach to achieving goals. During the training, a practical analysis of the material covered will be carried out with consultation of patients, analysis of their individual characteristics and practical work with the patient's parents.

Upcoming projects in 2022-2025

IME plans to open training sites from the American Heart Association (ANA) and the National Association of Emergency of Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in South Kazakhstan. This IME project will train medical staff of South Kazakhstan in emergency. People will improve their practical skills at the pre-hospital and at the hospital levels of medical care. 


We plan to open AHA and NAEMT training cites in South Kazakhstan in 2022-2025.

Teaching of Emergency Medical Care for Workers of Turkestan Oblast, Kazakhstan

IME invites Ric Wilkinson to run emergency trainings in Kazakhstan. 

Ric is a federal expert of emergency in the United States. Ric Wilkinson has his own training center called "Priority Medical Training" in the state of Alabama. He does various types of training on disasters and emergencies.

According to the 2022-2026 plan, Ric aims to invite his colleagues to train people in countryside of Turkestan oblast. The key advantage of IME is doing trainings in the villages so people don't have to travel far. These medical workshops are oriented towards sharpening their practical skills.
